"Angels in Blue Jeans"
Helping People in Our Neighborhood
"Angels in Blue Jeans" (ABJ) is a growing mission ministry that started at Guardian Angels Church in the summer of 2007 when the founder was invited to do an Appalachia Service Project. In 2008, nine members from Guardian Angels Church returned to Appalachia to answer God's call to serve some of America's poorest. Soon after this "Backyard Missions" was started in Copley and the Akron area, serving the elderly and those unable to maintain their homes.
In the summer of 2017 “Angels in Blue Jeans” 501c LLC was established (the name comes from a home owner who called us that). “Angels in Blue Jeans” is the combination of ASP, and local Backyard Missions. ABJ is a 501c3,LLC, registered with the State of Ohio it allows ABJ to receive tax deductible donations and grants from churches, corporations, and other donors. This year ABJ has received several donations from PPG, Akrochem, Habitat for Humanity and a host of local businesses who have jumped in to help build Betty’s house with the support of Copley Township and Brandywine construction. Over 30 members of Guardian Angels Church have worked on this ongoing project. Check out the pictures below to see Betty's Story.
