"Angels in Blue Jeans"
Helping People in Our Neighborhood
Angels in Blue Jeans is in its 5th year of service in Copley and the surrounding area. The "Angels in Blue Jeans" as coined by a homeowner, have built wheelchair ramps, installed hot water heaters and other appliances, painted houses, cleaned garages, cleaned yards and rehabed an entire house to make it "warmer, safer and drier" for the family.
Angels in Blue Jeans is open to any member of Guardian Angels Parish. Last summer, Angels in Blue Jeans joined Habitat for Humanity and 4 area Catholic Churches to build a house in Barberton. Work was also done at "The Catholic Worker" Peace House on Princeton St. re-doing stairs and adding fencing. This summer we have started to work on a home in Copley.
In December of 2014, our group was awarded the "Bishop William Cosgrove Social Justice Award" by the Summit County Catholic Commission on Social Justice.
